I’m sitting on a train bleary eyed and with the foggiest of heads headed back home to New York. 25 shows in 27 days. (turns out that’s a lot) If this blog is overly mushy and scattery brained I apologize.
Tour is officially over and while I’m ready to sleep my little heart out I’m also so sad that it’s all over. There will always be another tour but I don’t get to hang out with a Gabe Dixon every day and that’s a bummer. When this whole thing started Gabe and I had met once for probably one minute (that’s a lie- we figured out that we had met one other time at a Keane/Ingrid Michaelson show at The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. Cue: “it’s a small world after all”) and we were jumping in a van together (JUST THE TWO OF US) for 25 shows in 27 days. It could have been a disaster. Thankfully it was not. It was the opposite. It was the greatest. BFFS 4 Life ya know? No, really…Gabe is the best. Also he is the best at music. It was truly an honor to get to sing with him every night (Even The Rain, and Further The Sky if you were wondering) and to have him play on my set as well. If you haven’t heard him you are missing out in a big way. Don’t do this to yourself any longer! Get into it: http://gabedixon.com/store
Lastly I’d like to thank the acadamy..Ha. No, I’d like to thank YOU GUYS. Everyone who came to see us on this tour, I salute you! I’m feeling all kinds of gratitude for you. My gratitude cup spillith over! I met people in almost every city that drove HOURS to see our show. That blew me away. Thank you. Geez. You all rock my world. We had so many memorable shows (cue song: “memories”) and a few truly unforgettable shows. (….”all alone in the moonlight”….) In JANUARY for goodness sake. Good lord. You guys sure did make it fun for us and for that we love you lots.
I can’t wait to come back and visit all of you again. Also- OH HEY West Coast! I haven’t forgotten about you! Don’t feel neglected. I’ll be back very soon, I promise.
That’s all for now…I’ll post some neat tour pics later in the week.
Love,
Lelia
PS- finally met that other Broussard everyone asks me if I’m related to. Marc is hilarious and super nice. We’ve decided that now we’re telling everyone we’re brother and sister. I mean we’re probably cousins anyway, let’s be real.
PPS- HEY GABE! Let’s write a song together, ok!?
