My new single “You Can’t Argue With A Ghost” is out today!

This song is particularly close to my heart.

It’s about wishing you could take back things that you’ve said to someone after they’ve passed on. A lot of times, we aren’t the kindest to the people closest to us. We think we’ve got all this time, but we can’t control life and nothing is guaranteed. So, live in the precious moment, because that’s the only thing we have. Express your love freely and with an open heart. Be kind even when you don’t have to be.

forever in gratitude,

LB

Produced by Chris Kuffner

Vocals, Guitar - LB

Bass, Guitars, Synth, Mandolin - Chris Kuffner

Drums - Elliot Jacobson

Hello! I hope you guys are enjoying the coziest month ever - October! As I’m writing this to you, I am indeed very cozy.

The single of the month is called “Shout It Out”. This one came about a little differently than the rest of the songs on this little Singles EP. I was commissioned to write a song for the end title of a film, and this is what I came up with. Basically, what that means is that I read the script, and spoke to the studio producing the movie about what they were looking for in the song. Doing this sort of thing is a really fun challenge, and I loved working on it. Although, I do I remember having a mini panic attack/dark night of the soul in Chris Kuffner’s kitchen during the writing/recording of this. It’s not a record until somebody cries! It came up in the middle of when Chris and I were working on the other songs, so we decided to jump in and go for this one as well. He co-wrote this one with me and produced it. (We actually ended up writing two different songs for this. The one you’re hearing is the better one, I promise. Ha.) I didn’t end up getting it, but I’m still proud of what we made, and I wanted to share it with you guys! Obviously, the song is specifically about the movie. In a general sense, it’s about not being afraid to be yourself, and letting other people in to see you for who you really are.

It comes out on iTunes Worldwide and most digital retailers October 17th. For now - check out this lil preview.

love,

LB

Greetings, earthlings!

September’s single of the month, Buffalo Stars is out today! If I’m allowed to say so without sounding like an arrogant twat, this is one of my favorite recordings and songs I’ve ever been a part of. Really proud of this little guy.

I wrote this song with a lovely and very tall Norwegian fella called Boots Ottestad. We wrote it one evening in Los Angeles right before all the The Voice shenanigans started. I was feeling a little homesick and unsure of what I was doing. I think I had the phrase Buffalo Stars, and I wanted to write something that reminded me of the desert. It was one of those special times where the song just kind of wrote itself. This was actually the first time Boots and I met and wrote together, sometimes that experience can be pretty weird. Like a bad first date. This was very fun.
Boots - you rule.

It was produced once again by one of my all time favorite humans, Chris Kuffner. When we tracked drums for these songs (at Grand Street Recording in Brooklyn - best place on earth!) we also tracked vibes, and a little toy piano you’ll hear in the bridge. Elliot Jacobson played some spooky percussion I can’t remember the name of, and a field drum. Chris played upright bass, made some weird sounds with a screwdriver on a guitar, mandolin, and other various spooky cool sounds. I played my 60’s Harmony Rocket geetar mic’d and also through an amp, and sang all the vocals, clearly.

Very much hope you guys enjoy this one! If you dig it, consider sharing with your buds! :)

Next week = MUSIC VIDEO (!!)

love,

L

Hello, cuties of the internet!

If you haven’t already heard, I’m releasing a new single every month. This is the second month and this months single is called Turn To Stone It was produced by my homie4lyfe Chris Kuffner in beautiful Brooklyn, NY. Elliot Jacobson played drums. I sang and played some guitars, and Chris did everything else. That guy is a god damned evil genius. Except he’s really wonderful and not evil at all.

This song is about feeling lost and unsatisfied with life and yourself. Everything looking nice on the outside but feeling like something is missing. Uplifting as usual.

It’s available on iTunes worldwide! Yay! Go get it

love always,

LB

A little look at the making of Runaway! Watch it with your face!

Runaway

My new single Runaway (the first of five in this new series) is out today and I’m so excited to share it with you guys.

Runaway on iTunes

It was produced by one of my dearest friends I’ve ever had in this life, Chris Kuffner. Chris is an amazing human, and a truly brilliant producer and musician. Chris added so much to this song (and to the others you’ll be hearing in the coming months) he pushed me to be better in every way. Sometimes it was real hard, but in the end worth it. As it always is when you work on yourself in any way. Chris - I’m forever grateful for your presence in my life. Musical and otherwise. Love!

Elliot Jacobson played (and murdered) the drums on this. He was sick as a dog when we tracked these songs and he brought it so hard all the same. Love you, E!

This song in particular means a lot to me. When I wrote it, it felt uncomfortably honest for where I was at the time. Which I guess is a good place to be as a songwriter, but a scary place to be as a human. It’s about a desire for independence, the inner conflict of wanting to be free, thinking that you would be making a huge mistake, and about feeling incredibly alone when you’re with someone. I’ve always felt an intense desire to runaway from anything when it gets too hard (which for my youngsters out there - is NOT the best idea) sometimes it’s time to move on, and sometimes you’re just running away from your problems. Then they follow you wherever you go, no matter how far you move, or how much you don’t want to feel them, they come back up eventually.

Thank you so very much for reading and listening! I hope you enjoy this song, and the others to come. If you’re so inclined give it a little review and rating on iTunes, why dontcha.

so much love for you guys it makes me want to throw up, (in the best way)

-lelia

Lyrics:

i don’t know what I’m looking for
nothing clear, nothing in stone
words too painful to say out loud
whispered in the dark when you’re not around

it’s so easy to let love fall apart
i got an impulse telling me to make a brand new start

i don’t wanna runaway runaway from my heart
i don’t wanna runaway runaway from my heart

i don’t wanna make the wrong choice
i don’t wanna regret the things i do

ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh

i could never hide feelings on my face
you tell me to make up my mind
before it’s too late, i been feelin so alone
lost in the race i don’t know where i belong
or what i want these days

I don’t wanna runaway, runaway from my heart
I don’t wanna runaway, runaway from my heart

i don’t wanna make the wrong choice
i don’t wanna regret the things i do

ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh

don’t let me go too far
don’t let me go too far
don’t let me go too far away

i don’t wanna runaway, runaway from my heart
i don’t wanna runaway, runaway from my heart

i don’t wanna make the wrong choice
i don’t wanna regret the things i do

ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
